Affiliate Marketing: Why is it One of the Most Cost-Effective Ways to Advertise your Business

Affiliate Marketing: Why is it One of the Most Cost-Effective Ways to Advertise your Business

The following paragraphs summarize the work of affiliate marketing experts who are completely familiar with all the aspects of affiliate marketing. Heed their advice to avoid any affiliate marketing surprises.
Truthfully, the only difference between you and affiliate marketing experts is time. If you'll invest a little more time in reading, you'll be that much nearer to expert status when it comes to affiliate marketing.

Affiliate Marketing: Why is it One of the Most Cost-Effective Ways to Advertise your Business

Ever heard of affiliate programs? These are forms of Internet advertising that rewards the affiliates for driving traffic to the advertiser or for other transactions. The advertiser pays the affiliate to place a link on their website, and the affiliate sends traffic to the advertiser in return. Simply put, it's about paying commissions to people who help you make sales. It's that easy. NOT.

Affiliate marketing has its ups and downs. It could be draining if you are not armed with updated information and the technical how-tos. But this article's sole objective is to reach out to you and not to badmouth affiliate marketing.

Here are the following reasons on why web marketers go gaga over affiliate marketing as a form of Internet advertisement.

1. Low cost

Many are scared to go on a home based business because of the capital required. In affiliate marketing, you don't have to spend much to start raking in moolah.

2. Inventories not included

Product management fuss could be very stressing. An inventory is not asked to be maintained. The merchant does the maintenance required.

3. Unlimited income through leverage

When you have a paid job, your monthly income mainly relies on whether you go to work or not. With affiliate marketing, your affiliates could all just lead traffic to your site without having to lift a finger after providing them your ad copy and links. Though not every web marketer earns limitless, it still is a fact that all the necessary matters for the advertiser or Internet marketer are all there to be successful.

4. Go worldwide

With affiliate marketing, you are dealing with a global market place. All you have to do is choose a niche product and prepare all the necessary tools for your affiliates to lead traffic from just about anywhere to your website.

5. Low risk

The very main reason for Internet marketer's enthusiasm with affiliate marketing is its having a low risk factor. Especially for those with low budget set aside for advertising, affiliate marketing is just the way to do it.

6. No closing time

With affiliate marketing, your business works every single second of the day while targeting a worldwide market! What could be better than that?

But all of these will be put to waste if you don't have the right niche product and all the other important tools to make it big in affiliate marketing, i.e., well-SEO-ed website. So better work on this first before ever considering those benefits.

Now you can understand why there's a growing interest in affiliate marketing. When people start looking for more information about affiliate marketing, you'll be in a position to meet their needs.

Hunting for a good website template

So as I mentioned in the last post " I bought hosting with host gator. I have rolled some of my affiliate marketing commissions into hosting.

Now I driving myself crazy with chosing a template to work with. For now anyways Im using an xsite pro template. I got from some place. Cant say I remember where though. Might have been in one of the many thousands of list mailing i have gotten over the past year or so. Anyways. As I said Im driving myself nuts. I fidget with details, that's part of my silly charm. I really wish someone would come out with an affiliate marketing Website template.
Know what I mean?
Have you ever asked yourself "what does one of those look like or what does an affiliate marketing website look like?" I know I have on many occasions.
I guess first off I want one that is SE friendly and easy to work with. One that fits the whole screen. Maybe thats why I dont like the one Im using now. Im being hush hush about the site until its all prettified and done to my anal satisfaction.
Perhaps I'll encorporate some of the features of the one I have now into a another one.
Anyways Ive been staring at the screen all day and looking at lines of code for so many hours that I feel like Ive been staring through a microscope at a zebra.
Heres a useless but interesting fact about zebras. Maybe you've wondered about this is a zebra black with white stripes or white with black stripes?, well the answer is black with white stripes.
Did you also know that a polar bear has black skin.

I Bought hosting with Host Gator

Heres my host gator review.
Ive been toying with the idea of buying some hosting getting my own website up and running. So I toiled with the whole thing of who to go with I looked at go-daddy. But didnt like their commercials. Sad I know but hey I watch a whole lot of tv. And didnt like the commercials so that was out. So I did more searching, looking for cheap hosting of course. So I wound up on a friends site and saw this host gator ad.
So I decide to click away at it and see what they offer.

Blogging at the speed of mouth :-P Corny title I know. But you have got to read yaro's blog!! I like Yaro's he writes in a very down to earth fashion. I dont feel like Im reading an add for some product he's try to push. The below link is about getting traffic using word of mouth. Here's a snippet to wet your appetite: We all know how powerful word of mouth is. If you look back over the history of the most successful websites, those that have millions of visitors, it’s usually because they generated tremendous offline word of mouth that resulted in a “tipping point” for their traffic. No amount of search traffic, or backlinks or social bookmarks or pay per click advertising, or any mechanical traffic method can match the pure power of word of mouth to bring new visitors to your blog.

Using Shopping Bot Sites to Attract New Visitors to your affiliate marketing site

If you're looking for a new source of extra traffic to your site, one that sends qualified buyers your way, you'll want to learn more about shopping bot sites.

If you're an Affiliate Marketer or an online business owner, you know that attracting qualified targeted traffic, people who are already interested in buying your product or service is fundamental to your success. That's why I wanted to tell you about an increasingly popular way to get that cheap, qualified and targeted traffic you're after. What I'm talking about are "shopping bots," and they're becoming more important to e-business owners and affiliate marketers all the time.

Shopping bots are basically like search engines except that, instead of finding "information," they're designed to help shoppers find the products or services they're looking for on the Internet. In much the same way as search engines provide searchers with links to both affiliate marketing and product orientated Web sites, shopping bot sites list specific product information so shoppers can compare features and prices. And this means that shopping bots can be an excellent way for your potential customers to find out exactly what you have to offer and how to get it.

Most shopping bot sites will display ads to potential customers in an appealing, easy-to-understand format, making these sites increasingly popular places for savvy consumers to conduct their product research. If your product or service is competitively priced or offers buyers a unique or compelling benefit, and if you have a well-written ad, standing out from your competition will be a piece of cake.

Best of all, shopping bots can be a great place for business owners struggling to stand out in competitive markets to capture the eyeballs of qualified potential customers without spending more than you can afford for the more popular pay-per-click ads like Overture and Google AdWords.

So how do you get your site registered? Though shopping bot sites differ slightly from each other, registering your site and products with most of them is usually pretty easy. Here are the basic steps you need to follow to get your ad placed on a shopping bot site:

1. Take a look at the top five shopping bot sites to figure out if the site's format is right for you. (While there are dozens of shopping bots to choose from, there are really only five or so that get enough traffic to make submission worth your time. I'll go over my top five favorites below.) What you want to determine is whether your products or services are either competitively priced or if they have a feature that makes them stand above the competition.

Some shopping bot sites list products according to price, or give shoppers the ability to modify a search to show pricing in ascending/descending order. Others will list suppliers in priority sequence based on pay-per-position bidding.

Shopping bots that place a strong emphasis on price may not be favored by business owners who rely on a unique selling feature instead of price. So, if your product is better but not cheaper than the competition's, you'll need to find a shopping bot that's a better fit for you.

2. Determine the cost of placing your ad. For the majority of shopping bot sites, you'll be expected to pay on a pay-per-click (PPC) basis. On average, these costs vary between 5 cents and $1.25 per click, depending on the popularity of your product and the category it appears in.

In many cases, you'll also need to make a deposit of between $100 and $200, depending on the product or service you're selling. But don't worry these deposits are applied toward your PPC account.

3. Get your "product feed" ready to go. Your "product feed" is the information you submit to a shopping bot about the product you want advertised. This may include the description of your product, pricing, the category you want it to appear in, your web site URL, and product availability. A typical product feed looks something like this:

Product URL
Prod. Name
Product Description
Category
Price
Avail.
http://www.fitnessnyou.com/book14.html
Shake it up!
Meal Replacement Drink
Health & Nutrition
$40/ case of 12
In Stock

When creating your product descriptions, be sure they include clear, compelling benefits this can make the difference between having prospective customers find you with ease or letting your ad get lost or pushed down in the search results. Also try to avoid using obscure abbreviations or product codes in your ad. For example, would you be more inclined to click on an ad that says: "Tel. blk. crdlss. 21KF4900-A" ... or an ad that reads: "900 Mhz Black Cordless Telephone" You'd pick the second ad, right? That's because it clearly states what the offer is. Shoppers will be deterred by an obscure ad, so make sure your ad is clear, compelling and reader-friendly.

How you submit your product feed to a shopping bot site will vary depending on the guidelines of the site. Some sites make it easy to submit your feed through their online forms or downloadable software; other sites make it a bit of chore to submit your feed, requiring you to upload information through an FTP (file transfer protocol) client.

Whatever type of product feed a site uses, beware of third-party companies or web sites that want to take your hard-earned money to create product feeds for you. Creating your own product feed isn't difficult to learn, and it can save you a lot of money in the end.

4. Register your product feed. Once you've decided which shopping bot site to use and have created your product feed, registering should take a matter of minutes. The shopping bot site administrators will review your information and product feed for approval. (Be aware that the approval process can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.)

And here's an important note: Larger shopping bot sites share their listings with affiliated sites. For example, registering with a shopping bot site like Shopping.com, which is affiliated with DealTime.com and Epinions.com, will get you listed with the affiliated sites as well at no extra cost!

Which Bots Are Best?

I've spent some time checking out dozens of the shopping bots on the Net. A number of them are good, but not all of them are worth submitting your ads to. Here are my five favorites:

My top choice is BizRate. BizRate requires a $100 deposit from its merchants, but offers low minimum bidding rates, starting at just 10 cents per click and moving up to 30 cents per click. BizRate currently ranks 272 in Alexa, which means that the site gets a huge amount of traffic.

Product feeds submitted to BizRate may take seven to 14 days to be listed, so you'll need to make sure you aren't pressed for time when advertising your goods. (Merchants with product feeds already submitted to Yahoo! Stores can submit the same feed format to BizRate.)

Grabbing the No. 2 spot on my list is PriceGrabber. This site offers many of the same features as BizRate, with one major difference: Merchants without a Web site can use PriceGrabber's "Store Builder" option to post their product or service. There are no up-front costs for the Store Builder service because it's commission based: Merchants are charged $1.00 on each sale under $15, and 7.5 percent for each sale over $15. These virtual storefronts are also covered by limited fraud protection of up to $500 with a $15 deductible.

The third shopping bot on my list is Shopping.com. This service works especially well for merchants who don't want to spend time coming up with catchy product descriptions for their product feed, as Shopping.com displays a universal description of commonly searched items at the top of a search page, with ads listed below. Of course, this may be a disadvantage if you rely on a unique selling proposition (like high-quality, or ease of use) as opposed to a competitive price.

Shopping.com offers a flexible bid-management system. For example, if one merchant bids 40 cents for placement and another bids 55 cents, Shopping.com will adjust the higher bid down to 41 cents.

To set up an account with Shopping.com, you'll need to put down a minimum deposit of $200 before submitting your product feeds.

Appearing at the No. 4 spot on the list is Yahoo! Shopping. One of the attractive features of listing with Yahoo! Shopping is that your search results will also appear in other Yahoo! search engines (such as Yahoo! Search and Yahoo! Guides).

Yahoo! Shopping operates on a PPC platform. Costs for PPC listings start at 19 cents (for categories like clothing and general household items) and go up to $1.25 (for categories like flowers and jewelry). The Yahoo! Shopping search results are listed by item type, but not necessarily by manufacturer or model number. This style of listing can be advantageous to you if your unique selling proposition is more attractive to potential customers than the price of your product or service.

The fifth bot on my list is Google's new project: Froogle Beta. Google's new free beta shopping bot ("beta" meaning "almost finished, but not quite perfect!") is online and ready for you to use. The "free" aspect of Froogle is an especially attractive element of the beta testing and should not be overlooked. In fact, it's rumored that Froogle will continue to be free even after the beta testing stages, adding to its appeal. Froogle will be relying on sponsored ads (found at the right-hand side of their web pages) to keep the shopping bot going.

Froogle also offers two convenient ways to submit product feeds:

1. By filling out their online form
2. By making use of their Froogle Feeder software, which can be downloaded on a 30-day trial basis

Froogle still needs to work out a few bugs before it can provide shoppers with accurate search results, but it ranks in my top five list because it's free and there's no risk for merchants to list their products.

I also found some shopping bot sites that had definite perks to them, but didn't make it onto my top 5, including:

· MySimon

· NexTag

· PriceSCAN

· StreetPrices

Final Thoughts

Using shopping bots is definitely a great way to beef up your Web site traffic, bringing you qualified (i.e., interested) shoppers without costing you a lot of money. The most important thing to remember is that not every shopping bot site works in the same way. Choosing the one that suits your product or service will be crucial to the success of your ad.

And while shopping bots are an excellent source of cheap, qualified traffic, be sure you don't limit yourself to this one tool! Used properly, shopping bots can be a great addition to your online ad campaigns and can nicely complement your other marketing efforts.

E-book compiling and creation

For the past while ive been writing an e-book. Im currently using ms word to do the writing. I have the adobe acrobat ebook compiler.
But what Im curious about is how exactly to go about getting it set up for web distribution.
Do I have to up load each page in html format to a server then compile each page from there?)how do I do that?)
Or can I just compile the ebook in whole from my hard drive and then upload it?
How do I make it brandable if I want to do that.
How Do I include an auto responder in the e-book?
As you can see I'm a bit stumped at the moment.
I have googled ebook compilers and ebook creators. But not to much avail as far as how to create it. Know what I mean?
I have the ebook pretty much 90% done
So Im looking now at how to get the ebook packaged and ready.
Any help here would be appreciated to get my e-book done.
Oh just on a side note. Maybe this is a cheesy Idea. Have anyof you ever seen an ebbok with adsense in it? HAhahaha I know dumb question but maybe a good idea to be considered for further monetizing an e-book.

A secret technique you can use to promote your affiliate program

When you are using articles to promote your affiliate program you will, I am sure, include a link to your affiliate program in your signature. The link is great, and will get you some recognition.

However, there is a secret technique you can use to promote your affiliate program and get more traffic.

It is called Anchor Text.

Huh? What's that you might ask.

Have you ever been to a website and seen some normal words like these that are in fact a Hyperlink to another website?

That's anchor text.

It is where you use specific keywords as links to your page.

Now, why would you want to do that?

Most of the search engines pay particular attention to what words are used to link to your website. They then decide that because these words are used to link to your site, they must be relevant to your website.

So, by using the keywords you want your site to be found under as your anchor text, you will gain more relevance in the search engines and boost your rankings. This means that you get more free, organic traffic from the search engines for your affiliate program.

It's an incredibly simple technique, but is very powerful and effective. It can cause your website to rapidly climb up the search engine and be listed very high.

Of course, in order for you to effectively use anchor text, you need to have done your keyword research and know what people are searchingfor and what keywords you want to be ranked for.

Once you have done this research, you will also need to include the keywords in the page that you are linking to from the anchor text. This will help convince the search engines of your relevance and importance for those keywords.

The best tactic is to have different pages for each of the keywords. Rather than have one set of keywords point to a generic page, if you have one keyword points to one page that is rich in that keyword, then you will get much better results much quicker. The search engines will think you are much more relevant for those keywords and you will have a higher ranking.

So how does this apply to your affiliate program?

If you know what keywords you are using to promote your affiliate program, then you can use them as the anchor text for every link to your affiliate program, whether it is from a forum, a web page or an article.

Just using "affiliate program" as your keywords will not be enough to get you a high listing as so many people will do this.

You want to be niche specific. So if you were in the dog grooming business you may use "dog grooming affiliate program" as your keywords. You may even want to be more specific and use "New York dog grooming affiliate program".

Anchor text can help you race up the search engine rankings and get more organic, free traffic to your affiliate program, which will help you recruit more people to promote your products.

Making Money with Articles: Where to Find Affiliates For Your Niche Website

To make money with articles that you are going to place on websites, you will also need a variety of good affiliate links that will help to generate revenue.
It is important to know where to find affiliates and that you choose the best affiliates for you and your niche site.

When you pick an affiliate, it is important that you determine which companies you will profit best from based on the frequency that the product is likely to sell.
There are several types of affiliates and some will offer you more money from a sale than others will.
Before you get hazy-eyed by dollar signs, however, remember some products are bound to sell more than others. If you sell on product four times a year from a little known company that gives you $100 per sale or sell a well known product 3 times a week at the rate of $10 per sale, then you will make much more money with the $10 per sale product. Often times large well known companies will offer a very small profit per sale because they are established and know that their product is likely to sell well. Small, unknown companies, on the other hand, need all of the promotion they can get. Also, because they are unknown, their products are likely to sell less frequently.

The most important rule when picking affiliates to promote on your site is to pick products that would be of interest to those who would likely visit your niche site. In other words niche relevant. Otherwise you will be promoting a product to a group of people who do not even want nor need it.
If your niche site targets parents of young children, then promote baby products. If you niche site targets gardeners, then promote gardening products. If you promote baby products to gardeners, you are almost guaranteed to not make a profit no matter how much money the affiliate company offers for a sale.

Lastly, there are two main ways to find an affiliate company for your niche website. You can sign up with a company that manages the accounts of hundreds of companies, big and small, and apply for the products within these accounts or you can do a web search for companies that would match well with your niche, visit their websites, and see if they advertise an affiliate program.
If you're having a hard time deicding to what niche products to offer I highly recommend you go to ebay and look throgh the want it now section to see what people are asking for. Or just scan the ebay categories those are niches of active sellers and buyers.

Heres to your success !!!

How you can make six figures online as an affiliate marketer

How YOU Can make six figures online.
Day 1
Day 2 Increasing the market reach of your affiliate marketing business
Day 3 Building traffic and lists
Day 4 Setting up a routine
Day 5 Key #2: Increase Your "Lead Conversion"
Day 6 Key #3: Increase Your "Lifetime Value"

You Can make 6 figures online end note

Of course, as with the other two keys we’ve identified here, it’s important that you schedule time and action steps each week in order to grow this area of your affiliate marketing business.
Note: This is the easiest of the three keys to do and will always result in additional profits with minimal work if you do it correctly.
So, let’s look at a sample day’s activities for raising the lifetime value of your Affiliate marketing customers as you get them to spend more and more money with you.
And, again, you need a systematic approach. There are some things you can do on a weekly basis in order to increase the number of list members who buy and the number of site visitors who buy.
Let’s take a quick look at an example of one day’s activities you can begin implementing into your own business-growing checklist…

Wednesday:

Create or promote additional Affiliate products.

  • Find an affiliate program that relates to products that my customers have already purchased from me.
  • Write an article or create a short interview to send to my customers to promote the product.
  • Mail to my customer list.
  • OPTION B: Create a “Part 2” for an existing affiliate product they’ve purchased and offer it.
  • Organize a teleseminar with a “special guest” to promote their offer as an affiliate.
  • Find a potential interviewee who has an affiliate program.(Preferably a “high ticket” or “recurring” offer)
  • Make a proposal to them for the interview.
  • Schedule the interview and arrange the technical stuff.
  • Contact my lists with call details.
  • Add a freebie affiliate product to one or more of my customer lists to promote an offer.
  • Either my own free ebooks, articles, excerpts, audio/video– or someone else’s that I have permission to give away.
  • Create a special discounted offer for my customers.

Include some of these things in your weekly schedule for getting customers to
spend more and more money with you:

  1. Create and promote additional “related” products.
  2. Develop a “physical” version of an existing digital product.
  3. Start a monthly newsletter or paid subscription site.
  4. Host a teleseminar, webinar or other interactive “live” event.
  5. Offer personal coaching or consultation.
  6. Create a low-cost special report.
  7. Interview an expert and sell the completed product.
  8. Hire a ghostwriter to create additional “related” products.
  9. Partner with someone to create a “service”. (I.E. “Web hosting”, etc.)
  10. Co-author a product with someone.

IF YOU DON’T READ ANYTHING ELSE, READ THIS:
If you want to consistently grow your business – and ultimately make a six-figure income online – then you must have a plan. And you must have some kind of action steps in place in order to accomplish that plan.
Ya gotta have a system!
Once you have a system, it’s simply a matter of repeating things (and watching your business grow as you do!) over and over.
If you focus on doing the three things we’ve talked about – and you identify and implement some specific action steps into a weekly schedule to accomplish those three things – then you WILL succeed.

If you want to grow your online business and, ultimately, the profits you can actually spend each month, then those are the three things you need…

  • Increase your market reach.
  • Increase your lead conversion.
  • Increase your lifetime value.

There's your four-year marketing education all boiled down into a simple action plan. If you do those things, you will grow your business and multiply your profits. Guaranteed.
1. Find more of your potential customers.
2. Convert more of those you find into paying customers.
3. Get those paying customers to spend more money with you.
That's how you grow your business. That's how you grow your profits.
It all comes down to List And Traffic.
It all comes down to growing and profiting from opt-in lists and website traffic.
· Get more subscribers and website visitors.
· Get more of your subscribers and website visitors to buy from you.
· Get more of your subscribers and website visitors to buy from you over and over again.

Day 6 Day 5 Day 4 Day 3 Day 2 Day 1

You CAN make 6 figures online day 6

Key #3: Increase Your "Lifetime Value"
The third key to growing your affiliate marketing business and making more money is to "increase your 'lifetime value' ". In other words, sell more to your existing customers. You've worked hard to get the customer, so make the most of it.
You don't want to merely make one sale to your customers, but rather multiple sales.

There are a couple of ways to earn more lifetime value from your customers, both of which are important…
1. Multiple offers. One way to earn more lifetime value is to make multiple offers to your customers over time. Whether they are products you've created yourself, products
you've purchased rep rint rights to sell, or affiliate program products, you can increase the amount of profit per customer by selling them multiple products.
NOTE: What works especially well for multiple offers is to “graduate” your customers to higher priced items. They may initially buy a $20 ebook from you, but could easily be convinced to buy a $47-$97 video or membership. Then, you could work to get them to buy a $297-$497 home study course or reprint rights package. From there, you could move them on to personalized coaching or 2-3 day workshops for fees from $997-$4997 or even more. What started out as a $20 ebook could easily be turned into hundreds or even thousands of dollars being spent with you.
2. Residual offers. Another way to earn more lifetime value is through residual offers - where an existing customer pays you for the same offer over and over again. These are primarily service-based offers. Online examples include web hosting, autoresponders, match-making, private membership sites, paid newsletters, etc. The customer pays a monthly fee for the service for as long as they remain an active member.
It takes much less effort to get an existing customer to buy something additional from you than it does to go out and find more customers.
And, as you begin to saturate your market (I.E. Finding all of the customers who might do business with you), it will become more and more important to have "backend" offers in place to increase your profit from the customers you get.
As you "run out" of new customers available, it's critical to continue profiting from the database of folks already doing business with you.
